Victorville Division

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. – The San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office has completed its review of the officer-involved shooting of Amir Mansouri, 33, of Adelanto by San Bernardino County Deputy Sheriffs Robert Theiss and Ryan Gutierrez, Detectives Jay Hagan, Jeffrey Toll and Robbie Debois, and Sergeant Gary Somerville on October 21, 2010.

The District Attorney’s Office stated that when Mr. Mansouri fired upon Detective Hagan he created a threat of serious physical harm to the officers and deadly force was justified. Applying the laws concerning self defense, and defense of others, the use of deadly force by the deputies was legally justified and there is no criminal liability on the part of any of the involved officers.

The report of the written case evaluation is attached or is available by contacting Christopher Lee at the District Attorney’s Office at (909) 382-3665.
