SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. – The Let’s End Truancy Unit of the San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office and the City of Fontana will host a free countywide school resource fair targeting “at risk” children. The event is from 1 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11 at the Lewis Library in Fontana.
According to Chief Deputy District Attorney Karen Bell, who oversees the Juvenile Division for the San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office, parents can expect to find several service providers with resources to better handle problems their children might be experiencing.
Agencies offering counseling services, parent support classes, substance abuse classes, mental health services, after-school tutoring, reduced health care, mentoring, information about reduced cost transportation, homeless assistance, and runaway services are expected to attend.
“Our main goal is provide parents and children with immediate access to useful information and resources in the community,” said Bell. “Ultimately, what we would like to see is each child do well in school and go on to be a happy and productive member of society. Who can argue with that?”
