SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. – The latest gang statistics for the third quarter of 2012 have been compiled by the San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office. Statistics for the quarter of July 1, 2012, through September 30, 2012, show that 298 cases were filed from all divisions. There were 164 state prison commitments obtained with a total of 1,176 years of state prison. Ninety five gang enhancements were found true and 14 were found guilty by jury trial.
Since the Gang Program’s inception in July 2005, 7,673 cases have been filed; 2 on death row; 4,583 state prison commitments; 31,893 + 153 life terms years in state prison; 1,718 gang enhancements have been found true and 264 were found guilty by jury trial.
"It’s important not to lose sight of the brave actions of our local law enforcement officers who battle these local terrorists every day,” said District Attorney Michael Ramos. “Because of their hard work and that of our dedicated gang attorneys who work tirelessly to ensure justice is carried out, we are able to disrupt the criminal actions of several gangs in San Bernardino County.”
