SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. – A 33-year-old San Bernardino man has been charged for the attempted murder of a peace officer Tuesday.
Miguel Alvarez is charged with Attempted Murder of a Peace Officer and Possession of a Firearm by a Felon with Priors. If convicted as charged, Alvarez faces 40 years, 8 months to Life in State Prison. Click here to download a copy of the complaint. Deputy District Attorney Michael Stedman will prosecute the case.
Alvarez is scheduled to be arraigned via video today at 12:30 PM in Dept. 21, San Bernardino Superior Court.
“Any attempt on the life of a peace officer has our highest priority,” District Attorney Michael Ramos said. “As I said when I created our Crimes Against Peace Officers Unit a few months ago, this type of behavior will not be tolerated in this county, and we will do everything possible to prevent, prosecute and punish those who attack our law enforcement officers.”
