MEDIA ADVISORY: James Christian Arrowood scheduled to be sentenced in 1991 cold case murder


James Christian Arrowood, 41, of Tennessee



James Arrowood is scheduled to be sentenced in the cold case murder of John Richard Miller, which took place in 1991 at a Victorville motel. Arrowood was convicted by a jury Aug. 12, 2014, and faces 25 years to life in state prison.

Michael Dane Arrowood pleaded guilty last year to voluntary manslaughter in exchange for agreeing to testify truthfully against his brother James. He is scheduled to be sentenced Sept. 19, 2014 in Victorville Superior Court.

Deputy District Attorney Denise Yoakum, who is assigned to the Cold Case Unit and prosecuted the case, will appear on behalf of the District Attorney’s Office.
