DA Finds Fatal Officer-Involved Death in Barstow Justified

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. – The San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office has completed its review of the fatal officer-involved death of Alex Roman Quintanilla, 22, of Victorville, by California Highway Patrol Officers Matthew Chance and Adam Carmichall, Barstow Police Sergeant Andrew Espinoza and Barstow Police Officers Scott Johnston and Thomas Gates on May 21, 2012.

Under the facts, circumstances and the applicable law, the officers’ use of less than lethal force in this case was justified. Click here to download a copy of the written case evaluation.
