DA Finds Non-Fatal Officer-Involved Shooting in Adelanto Justified

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif.– The San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office has completed its review of the non-fatal officer-involved shooting of Keivon Anthony Young, 20, of Adelanto, by San Bernardino County Sheriff’s deputies Justin Musella, Nick Tollefson, Michael Sandlin, Shane Anderson and Sergeant John Ades on Jan. 29, 2014.

Under the facts, circumstances and the applicable law, the shooting by deputies Justin Musella and Nicholas Tollefson was justifiable self-defense because it was based on the deputies’ reasonable fear of imminent lethal harm and no criminal liability will result therefrom.
