DA Finds Fatal Officer-Involved Shooting in Fontana Justified

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif.– The San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office has completed its review of the fatal officer-involved shooting of 46-year-old James Daniel Hall by Fontana Police Officer Shane McCoy on Nov. 22, 2015.

Based on the facts of this case and the applicable law, Officer McCoy’s use of lethal force was a proper exercise of his right of self-defense and defense of others. Therefore, his actions were legally justified. Click here to download a copy of the written case evaluation.
