DA Finds Non-Fatal Officer-Involved Shooting in San Bernardino Justified

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif.  – The San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office has completed its review of the non-fatal officer-involved shooting of 46-year-old Pedro Acereto of San Bernardino by Special Agents Jonathan Maniff and Ryan Stearman with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATFE) on July 12, 2017.

Based on the facts presented in the reports and the applicable law, Special Agent Maniff and Special Agent Stearman’s use of deadly force was a proper exercise of their right of self-defense and therefore their actions were legally justified.
