Human Trafficking Statistics

Our Human Trafficking Prosecution Unit gathers case statistics daily and accounts for them annually. We track Human Trafficking cases based on final outcome and by individual defendant.



Convictions

2015

In 2015, the Human Trafficking Prosecution Unit convicted 25 traffickers who were sentenced to state prison for a total of 214 years and 2 months, with two life sentences.

2014
In 2014, the Human Trafficking Prosecution Unit convicted 17 traffickers who were sentenced to state prison for a total of 66 years and two months with one life sentence.

TATTOO PLACED ON VICTIM

Traffickers will regularly brand their victims. In the above examples, tattoos were used to link the victim to the pimp.


2013
In 2013, the Human Trafficking Prosecution Unit convicted 14 traffickers who were sentenced to state prison for a total of 69 years and 4 months.
